Employers Increasing Work Week from 35 to 40 Hours: Is it Legal?

In the current economy, it's becoming increasingly common for employers to start increasing the required number of hours its employees work weekly from 35 to 40 hours -- but without offering up additional hourly pay. Companies are looking for ways to squeeze more out of their workers without forking over extra money.

For salaried workers, this amounts to a decrease in their hourly wage.
